U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) will hold a town hall meeting from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, in the Moriarty Auditorium at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St.

The town hall is part of an annual series conducted by Wyden in each of Oregon’s counties. Friday’s meeting will serve Multnomah County, but Oregonians from throughout the state are encouraged to attend. There are no specific subjects for the town hall; citizens are welcome to bring up any topic or question they may have.

“We’re quite pleased to have the opportunity to host Sen. Wyden and the people of Portland,” said Cascade Campus President Algie Gatewood. “PCC and Cascade Campus have a deep respect for representative democracy, and we’re honored to serve as the venue for Sen. Wyden to speak directly with his constituents.”

In light of Saturday’s shootings in Arizona, which took place at a similar Congressional town hall forum, uniformed Portland Police officers will be on hand at Cascade to help ensure that the meeting progresses in a safe and orderly fashion.
