The Middle East with Reese Erlich: A journalist’s perspective

Interested in learning about the Middle East from a journalist’s viewpoint? If so, please join ASPCC-Sylvania on Wednesday, Jan. 26 when it hosts veteran investigative journalist and foreign news correspondent Reese Erlich, author of the recent release, “Conversations with Terrorists: Middle East Leaders on Politics, Violence and Empire.”

A journalist for more than 40 years, Erlich currently reports for a variety of print and radio outlets – the Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Chronicle, St. Petersburg Times, Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. Radio (CBC), Latino USA, Radio Deutche Welle, Australian Broadcasting Corp. Radio (ABC), and KQED Radio, the NPR affiliate in San Francisco, as its media critic since 1988.

In 2006, Erlich shared the Peabody award for his radio series, “Crossing East,” and in 2004 he won the Clarion Award for his radio special, “Children of War: Fighting, Dying, Surviving.” Erlich is the author of several books, including “The Iran Agenda: The Real Story of U.S. Policy and the Middle East Crisis” (2007) and the best-seller, “Target Iraq: What the News Media Didn’t Tell You” (2003) with Normon Solomon.
