Blog: A well-rounded day of lobbying

Photos and story by

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Your PCC contingent spent the day hitting Capitol Hill and meeting with Oregon’s congressional delegation, including Sen. Ron Wyden and Rep. Kurt Schrader.
Both are supporters of higher education, so it’s easy taking our case to them.
In the evening, we attended a dinner honoring retired U.S. sen. Michael Castle, R-Delaware, and Sen. Max Baucus, D-Montana. (Admit it… You thought the D would be from Delaware and the R from Montana. Yeah, me too.) A surprise guest at the dinner was Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden and a long-time instructor at a community college.
Tomorrow we visit Sen. Jeff Merkley and Rep. Davis Wu.
