Blog: Breaking down the governor’s budget
Photos and story by Dana Haynes
The Oregonian’s Harry Esteve did a nice job today of explaining the complicated budget, released yesterday by Gov. John Kitzhaber. It’s in the form of questions-and-answers.
As a reminder: The governor proposes a budget for every odd-numbered year. The debate now shifts to the Legislature; namely, to the all-important, budget-writing Ways & Means Committee.
And one of the co-chairmen of this year’s Ways & Means is Sen. Richard Devlin, whose district (Tigard, Tualatin, portions of Lake Oswego) lie just west of the Sylvania Campus.
