Blog: East side town hall slated

Photos and story by

If you live on the east side of the PCC district and want to know what’s going on in Salem, or if you have a specific question about Oregon lawmaking, tomorrow’s your opportunity.

State Sen. Diane Rosenbaum, District 21, will play host to a town hall meeting along with Rep. Jules Bailey, District 42. The event runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the choir room of Cleveland High School, 3400 SE 26th Ave.

While Sen. Rosenbaum has always been one of these most accessible lawmakers – she’ll talk to anyone, any time on any topic – this year she also is the Senate Majority Leader. That makes her part of the chamber’s leadership team.

Her district runs along the east bank of the Willamette, from Burnside to the north down to about the Clackamas County border. Its eastern border is a little tougher to distinguish but if you go to www.pcc.edu/about/legislature, then click on “Oregon Legislature,” it will take you to a new page. There, click on “Find Your Legislator” in the right-hand column. Type in your address and it’ll tell you who represents you in Salem.

Rep. Bailey’s district is the western half of Sen. Rosenbaum’s area.

This is a great opportunity to ask questions to two area lawmakers.
