Community Stakeholders work with Cascade Campus on Modeling for campus improvements

Photos and story by

On Thursday, March 10, twenty community stakeholders  will work with the PCC Bond Project Team to brainstorm concepts for improving Cascade Campus, surrounding neighborhoods and the Killingsworth Street commercial corridor using  three-dimensional table-top models of this North Portland community.

These stakeholders have been serving on a Cascade Campus Bond Advisory Committee since November 2010, and represent residents from Humboldt and Piedmont neighborhoods, business and property owners along Killingsworth Avenue and Albina Street, and local faith-based, non profit and educational organizations in the surrounding community. The modeling exercise follows five earlier meetings where committee members learned about  campus history, programming and layout, as well as planning concepts, commercial redevelopment and urban integration along Killingsworth Street and in the adjacent neighborhoods.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend  committee meetings, with an opportunity at the beginning of all meetings to ask questions or share their views.  The next meeting on March 10, will be at The Northstar Ballroom, 635 N. Killingsworth Court. Site is ADA accessible with on-street parking only.  For more information, contact Gina Whitehill-Baziuk at 503-9778417.
