Internationally acclaimed author and philosopher Christopher Phillips and founder of the “Socrates Café” model will give a presentation at the Sylvania Campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. , Wednesday, April 13. He will address:

  • How Socrates Cafés are forming a “critical public.”
  • Constitution Café as a space in which Americans grapple with how they would sculpt the United States Constitution.
  • Philosophical Inquiry: How tools of reason and conceptual thinking are changing American culture.
  • Socrates Cafes around the world: Giving those who have no voice a voice and hope for a more equitable future.

Sponsored by Sylvania’s Associated Students of PCC, Phillips’ presentation will take place in the Performing Arts Center and be followed by a question-and-answer session with attendees. A book signing and two interactive “Socrates Café” sessions also are on the agenda in the PAC lobby.

All are welcome to the event, which is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Edward Ershbock at inquiryofmind@yahoo.com.
