Portland Community College is now accepting applications for the newly established Chehalem Valley Scholarship Fund.

The PCC Foundation will award eight $1,500 Chehalem Valley Scholarships for students from Newberg, Dundee and St. Paul to attend PCC next year. The application deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, April 29. Students may apply online for the scholarships by visiting www.pcc.edu/pccscholarships.

“We are excited about the launch of the Chehalem Valley Scholarship Fund which has been established at the PCC Foundation to serve students (from the Newberg area) who attend the college,” said Linda Gerber, Sylvania Campus president. “We have worked for years to establish PCC in this community and this fund offers a way to provide financial resources to local students.”

Chehalem Valley students soon will have the chance to take classes at the new Newberg Center, currently under construction on 16 acres near Fernwood Road and Brutscher Street, off Highway 99W. The 13,500 square-foot, Path to Net Zero facility will be completed and open by this fall.
