Sylvania student government opens Food Canteen for needy

Photos and story by

The Sylvania ASPCC (student government) is launching a Food Canteen for students in need.

The grand opening will take place Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13 in the ASPCC offices (lower level, CC building, at the windows). Regular hours of operation will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., although students won’t be turned away if they come at other times.

Students can access the Food Canteen three times per term and obtain canned and non-perishable food items for themselves and their family members. Food donations are being provided by local grocery stores; seed funding from the PCC Foundation and ASPCC also is helping to stock canteen shelves with food for the launch.
