Portland Mayor Sam Adams and members of the Portland Police Department met Monday, June 6, at PCC’s CLIMB Center, along with owners and workers of bars and taverns throughout the city.

The topics included a recent spate of violent incidents and police response to them. Besides serving as major, Adams also is the city’s police commissioner.

“I asked the department to set up this meeting and they did. It’s important to reach out to this group,” Adams said prior to the meeting.

More than two dozen representatives of bars and taverns attended the meeting, held at the CLIMB Center near OMSI. CLIMB – Continuous Learning for Individuals, Management and Business – is PCC’s one-stop center for industry and entrepreneurial training.
