Nobel Peace Prize nominee to speak at Cascade on peace issues

Kathy Kelly, a three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, is coming to PCC’s Cascade Campus. She is known for her work in challenging U.S. sanctions on Iraq prior to 2003 and well known thereafter for her peace building and eyewitness work in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and elsewhere.

Her talk, “The Costs of War, the Price of Peace” is from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, in the Moriarty Arts Building Auditorium, Cascade Campus. Admission is free. Kelly is co-coordinator of Voices for Creative Nonviolence, and was part of the June, 2011 Freedom Flotilla, which attempted to deliver solidarity messages to Palestinian under siege in Gaza.
