Student uses PCC to get inspired for dramatic art piece

Photos and story by

PCC student Candyce Scott has discovered a unique medium in her sculpture class and uses it to make mobiles and jewelry. Recently, she installed her first big art commission at the First Unitarian Church in downtown Portland. The mobile spans 10 feet and hangs down 13 feet in the church’s three-story atrium. There are more than 2,500 handcrafted pieces that move with the slightest air current.
