The Evening Trades Apprenticeship Preparation (ETAP) Program at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus will hold its next graduation ceremony from 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, in Room 122, Terrell Hall. The ceremony will honor the latest group of students to complete the program’s intensive pre-apprenticeship training program.

“The graduation is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge not only the hard work of our students, but also those who have completed the ETAP program and are working their way through registered apprenticeship programs,” said ETAP Director Eddie Lincoln.

In addition to the graduation ceremony itself, the event will feature addresses from ETAP students, ETAP Advisory Committee Chair John Steffens, committee member Mel Jones, and Cascade Campus President Algie Gatewood. The program will also highlight a new training curriculum it has developed in concert with the Building Construction Technology program at PCC’s Rock Creek Campus. Light refreshments will be served.

The ETAP program helps prepare students for skilled apprenticeships in a range of construction trades. Its 10-week training cycle includes an in-depth introduction to construction apprenticeship through classroom instruction, hands-on training and field trips.
