Rock Creek hosts Neighborhood Meeting to review development proposal

Photos and story by

On Tuesday, November 29, PCC Rock Creek is hosting a Neighborhood Review Meeting from 6:00  to 8:00 pm at the Campus Event Center to provide campus and community members an opportunity to discuss the College’s preliminary development plans for the campus.

At a Campus Roadshow in October, Barbara Linn, the Rock Creek Bond Program Manager, uses a model to discuss proposed campus improvements.

Thanks to the bond approved by district voters in 2008, the College is expanding educational opportunities and adding new classroom space at its Rock Creek Campus. This December, the PCC Bond Team will submit a land use application to Washington County to construct a 30,000 square foot addition to Building 7 and upgrade the campus quad area, located on the east side of Building 7.

Site plan for proposed 30,000 square foot addition for Building 7 (red area) and upgrades to the adjacent quad (blue area) at Rock Creek Campus. Event will take place in Building 9.

At the meeting, surrounding property owners and residents will be able to review the land use proposal, ask questions and identify issues that PCC can consider before submitting its formal application to the County.  In addition to a question and answer session, participants will also be able to visit three information stations focusing on 1) parking and transportation management, 2) campus access from NW Springville Road,  and 3) natural resources and land use.

The Campus Event Center is located in Building 9.  Free parking will be available after 5:30 pm in the Event Center parking lot, on the west side of Building 9.

In preparation for the Neighborhood Review Meeting on November 29, 2011, PCC Facilities staff posted event signage near the entrance of Rock Creek Campus.
