Construction crews are expected to begin work this fall on a massive expansion of Portland Community College’s Southeast campus, creating a new landscape that college officials hope will be more welcoming to the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.

Construction crews worked on Portland Community College's Southeast campus in 2003. Later this year, the campus will undergo a major expansion.

The $39 million project will add a library, commercial storefronts, green space for public gatherings and a child development center.

Some of these services will line the perimeter of the campus, along Southeast 82nd Avenue and Division Street, making them more visible to motorists and neighbors.
