Allie Flanary earns national Movers & Shakers award
Photos and story by James Hill
PCC’s Allie Flanary is a mover and a shaker.
Flanary, a college reference librarian at the Sylvania Campus, was picked by the Library Journal as a 2012 Movers & Shakers, a recognition of leaders in the industry.
Being a Movers & Shakers is no small feat. Flanary was one of 53 people nationwide honored and got to go to a photo shoot at the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting in Dallas as part of being profiled by the magazine. She joins Rachel Bridgewater, Cascade reference librarian, and Donna Reed, director of library services, who are both past Movers & Shakers winners.
The people chosen were acknowledged for connecting students and the community with the things and information they need, including one another, creating opportunities for cooperation and collaboration, and serving the underserved.
