Portland Community College’s Hillsboro Center, located at 775 S.E. Baseline in the new Intermodal Transit Facility, celebrated its 10th birthday amid PCC’s 50th anniversary celebrations on Tuesday, April 24. PCC Board Member and President of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce Deanna Palm gave remarks on how the center has served the local community. In addition, PCC’s Rock Creek Campus Division Dean of Business and Humanities Cheryl Scott presented President of the Hillsboro City Council Aron Carlson a gift soap stone sculpture made by PCC art instructor Mylan Rakich. Carlson was standing in for Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey and Scott for Rock Creek Campus President Dave Rule who both couldn’t make the event.

The Hillsboro Center, with an enrollment of 950 students per term, offers transfer courses in art, biology, business, computer applications, education, health, graphic design, math, psychology, reading, Spanish, speech and writing. English as a Second Language classes are offered every term and academic advising and placement testing are also available there.
