Evolving PCC Earns Respect – Portland Business Journal

Portland Community College  is no longer an afterthought.

Its annual budget is now almost $800 million. It has opened 12 new buildings since the passage of a bond measure in 2008. Its endowment is now $4.9 million. Now, as the college celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is rightly taking its place as a key player in Oregon’s higher education community. PCC — and other community colleges — will continue to play instrumental roles in Oregon’s higher education landscape as the state begins revamping its education system.
