Sylvania’s Health Technology Building to get roofing upgrade
Photos and story by Kate Chester
A comprehensive roof renewal of Sylvania’s Health Technology (HT) Building is set to take place this month.
Work will begin Friday, Aug. 10 and conclude Friday, Aug. 24, and is anticipated to extend the life span of the roof for up to 20 years.
The final stage of the project is the application of a coating that will produce odors in and around the HT Building. The product to be used is not harmful, nor are the odors it produces. For more details, or to review the Material Safety Data Sheet on this substance, please visit HT 318.
Throughout the process the college’s Facilities Management Services department will provide air quality monitoring. If at any time there is concern about odor concentration, FMS will stop work until levels decrease.
In the event of questions about the process or work being done, contact Steve Borcherding with FMS at either (971) 722-8150 or steven.borcherding@pcc.edu.
