Global music vibe to ‘swarm’ Sylvania Campus on Oct. 5
Photos and story by Kate Chester
The “buzz” of fall term is in the air and with it, an elevated energy and pace on campus. So what better time than now to take a mini-break from the books over the lunch hour and enjoy the talent of world-renowned musicians free of charge?
That’s right, Swarmius – whose music has been labeled global trans-classical/avant pop – is coming to the Sylvania Campus Friday, Oct. 5, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Little Theater (Communication Technology Building). The event is free of charge and open to the public and PCC community.
Swarmius has captured an international following, winning over critics worldwide and earning such reviews as “ravishingly beautiful” from the Paris Transatlantic Magazine, to “ Combines industrial, modern classical, world influenced music . . . Swarmius defies categorization” in Gapplegate Music Review, to “ . . . some of the most enjoyable cutting-edge music I’ve heard in quite a while” in the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The visit to Sylvania has been arranged by music instructor John Mery, who can be contacted at jmery@pcc.edu in the event of questions. For more information on Swarmius, visit: swarmius.com/presskit.
