PHOTOS: Rock Creek leaders unveil new Learning Garden

Photos and story by

On Thursday, Oct. 11, Birgitte Ryslinge, dean of instruction at the Rock Creek Campus, symbolically hopped onto one of the two stationary bicycles and started to pedal, generating electricity as evidence by a large tube of red and green lights that illuminated with pedaling. The action served to officially kick-off the Rock Creek Campus’ new-look Learning garden by Building 9. Dozens of students and staff attended to get a look at the new raised beds for staff and students to cultivate plants and vegetables; view the newly installed artwork and signage; stroll the pumpkin patch; check out the the earthen oven; and learn about the garden’s partnerships with the community and other PCC programs.
