Secretary of State reminds students, staff to do their civic duty: vote

Photos and story by

Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown led a workshop on the importance of voting and civic engagement for students at the Cascade Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 31. In a Terrell Hall classroom, Sec. Brown met with about 50 students, staff and faculty for a special, non-partisan event to drum up enthusiasm for people to not only send their ballots in but to participate in future elections and legislative affairs of their local governments. In addition to Sec. Brown’s presentation, the workshop featured remarks from Campus President Algie Gatewood, Cascade’s student leaders, and a question-and-answer session with the audience.
