Demolition began on the remodel and expansion of food services at Southeast Center on March 11, 2013.

This week, the O’Neill construction team started demolition of the concrete pad and sidewalk on the west side of Mt. Tabor. This is the first step in remodeling and expanding the kitchen at Southeast Center. Crew will lay down sanitary drains later this week and start excavation for the kitchen expansion next week.

Due to ongoing construction at Southeast Center, the doors on the south wing of Mt. Tabor – near the bookstore and dance studio – are for emergency exits only.  The project team has planned out construction for the food service remodel and expansion so that it will not impact the bookstore or dance studio/gym area.

Crews installed and are testing new fire water lines this week. These lines will service the remodel at Mt. Tabor and the new students commons and learning commons.

Crews are testing new fire lines this week. These lines will feed fire sprinkler systems in Mt. Tabor and the new students commons and learning commons buildings.

To serve students, faculty and staff, the existing cafeteria will remain open through the middle of July, when it will then close so crews can finish remodelling the cafeteria.  We are on schedule to reopen the brand new kitchen and expanded food menu for Fall term (2013).
