All welcomed at Conversation Cafe, starting April 12

Photos and story by

Southeast Center’s Conversation Cafe kicks off on Friday, April 12. Conversation Cafe will be hosting a series of workshops on volunteer and employment opportunities, community service and resources. Sessions are geared towards ESOL students, but everyone is welcome to attend or volunteer.

Sessions are hosted in Room 123, Mt. Tabor Hall (tutoring center) every Friday from 1:30-3:30 pm and starting April 19 evening sessions are now held at least once a month from 7-9 p.m. PCC staff, students and community volunteers engage with ESOL students in conversational English. The Cafe welcomes a diverse group of students, ages 19-67 and people that speak Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, French, Ukrainian, and Russian.

Founded in 2011, Conversation Cafe is a weekly English conversation gathering. The Cafe is designed to help English for Speakers of other Languages students practice their English and improve their skills through a series of fun yet effective activities, different from those in the classrooms.

For more information on how to participate, call (971) 722-6255, or email: conversation_cafe@lists.pcc.edu.

Hello… I’m wondering how one goes about presenting a class at Southeast Center. I am an executive presentation skills coach and have created a class on 21st century goal setting for businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals of every category. I noticed there was no goal setting or developing class or seminars in your current catalog. Thanks for your response in advance.

Hi Richard, please contact the CLIMB Center at 971-722-2798. They would be best to advise on that.
