President Pulliams awarded Diane Mulligan Friend of ROOTS honor

Photos and story by

On June 11, Preston Pulliams, retiring PCC president, was awarded the Dr. Diane Mulligan Friend of ROOTS Award at the completion ceremony for the ROOTS Program at Sylvania Campus. The award was presented by, left to right, Lynn Montoya Quinn (director of the Sylvania ROOTS program), Diane Mulligan (retired dean of Student Development at Sylvania) and Claire Oliveros (manager of the Cascade ROOTS program). They came together to present this award on behalf of the programs, which serve first-generation, low-income students (as well as students who experience disabilities). The two programs are beneficiaries of Pulliams’ “Campaign for Opportunity.”
