Cascade ASPCC needs donations fot Thanksgiving baskets

Photos and story by

Cascade Campus’ ASPCC and Phi Theta Kappa are sending Thanksgiving baskets to more than 50 student families to make the Holiday season a happy time for those students who might find it a financial burden.

To donate items, stop by Room 03 in the Student Center at the Cascade Campus. Receipts are available for tax purposes and students will be collecting donations until Nov. 22. ASPCC will be asking departments to contribute again. The Community Service Team from Phi Theta Kappa has provided letters and donation cans to each division or department at Cascade.

“Last year many of you generously donated cash that went to purchase 56 Thanksgiving Baskets for Cascade students,” said Bobbie Truesdell, office assistant with student government. “Thanks to your generous support we have been able to help every qualified student who has applied for this program over the past several years.”

Students in need have until Friday, Nov. 15 to apply for a Thanksgiving Basket. If you know of a student who would benefit from this service, be sure to encourage them to apply. ASPCC select students using a lottery system so that everyone has an equal opportunity to receive a basket. Families are selected by lottery and will be notified by Monday, Nov. 18.

To get an application, email bobbie.truesdell@pcc.ed, or visit Cascade’s ASPCC Office in Room 03 of the Student Center.
