Sylvania’s College Center gets a much needed lift

Photos and story by

The new north elevator in the College Center at the Sylvania Campus is now open for business, just in time for winter term activity. The glass elevator’s installation at the north end of the CC building was finished over the holiday break. This Bond Program and Facilities Management Services-funded addition will greatly facilitate ADA access to all levels of the CC Building, including allowing PCC workers access to the roof for efficient maintenance of building mechanical systems. On Thursday, Jan. 2, Sylvania Campus President Linda Gerber hosted a party to celebrate this new addition with faculty and staff. Gerber and Sylvania Bond Manager Gary Sutton took the ceremonial first ride in the elevator in front of a clapping crowd.
