Auto Collision Repair to show off latest toys to public

The Auto Collision Repair Program at the Rock Creek Campus is hosting an open house for faculty, staff and stduents to check out its revamped 17,000-square-foot shop and new state-of-the-art paint booths, new training classroom and 3D Virtual Paint Simulator. The open house is from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, in Room 131, Building 2, Rock Creek Campus. Anyone who attends can learn more about the program’s one- and two-year certificates as well as it’s associate’s degree; participate in door prizes and enjoy refreshments; check out an IMCA dirt-modified champion race car; view the student car show and the Cobra Kit car; explore careers at auto body shops; and win goodies from attending vendors.
Since its establishment in 1970, the program has grown into one of the largest and most reputable programs on the West Coast. Instructor and staff pride themselves in offering the most practical and effective curriculum available, and is is certified by the National Automotive Training Education Foundation. The Auto Collision Repair Program is designed to help develop skills in safety, basic mechanics, metal working, welding, damage analysis, structural and nonstructural repair, painting repaired automobiles, communication and mathematics. The classes range in size from 10 to 20 students, providing the one-on-one attention for students with their instructors. Its advisory committee, which includes shop owners, technicians and insurance company representatives, along with equipment and material supply representatives, assists PCC in keeping the program up to date.
