Rock Creek’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter turns it around
Photos and story by James Hill
The Rock Creek Campus’ Phi Theta Kappa Chapter, once in a lull for several years, has come back strong.
The chapter went from a zero to a five star chapter. At the recent spring convention for the PTK Rocky Mountain Cascade Region, the chapter received several awards including Distinguished Chapter Officer Team (second runner up), Action Theme 8 Award (runner up) for a research project regarding the effects of grades on student achievement, College Project Award (runner up) for a service project providing scholarship workshops and Distinguished Chapter Award (runner up). Due to its achievements, the chapter received a free registration, lodging, and meals for the June Honors Institute. The Honors Institute will be held at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and the chapter will send one of this year’s officers who will be returning as its president for next year.
