Graphic Design students create giant mural about bond work

Photos and story by

mural4PCC students are pretty talented.

Proving this point are Graphic Design Program students Ally Santos, Stephanie McGrady, Hendrick Falcon, Serena Engquist, Jessica Edmonds, Holland Royal, Jana Stoughton, Thin Tran and Charlie Johnson. They have created a giant wall mural that informs the public in the Sylvania Campus Answer Center (view it over in the Lower Mall, College Center) about PCC Bond Program projects at the Sylvania Campus.

Led by Angie Martorana, design studio instructor, the students painted a tree branch across the 75-foot-long, 13-foot-tall wall. The 3D design includes half-circles of plexiglass panels that have information about the four phases of construction and intricate shingled birdhouses and birds created in the MakerSpace lab. In addition, there are picture window frames that contain snapshots of the new spaces at the campus.

Read about how it came together at the Bond Program website.
