Auto Collision Repair open house a real hit

Photos and story by

The second annual Auto Collision Repair Program open house on May 13 at the PCC Rock Creek Campus was a combination of the old, the restored and the possible. Approximately 125 people wandered through the shop, including a group of students who met auto shop owners and vendors looking for people to hire.

Representatives from some of Portland’s largest auto repair shops were on hand including Kadel’s Auto Body, Mackin’s, Artistic Auto Body, Precision Body & Paint, Fix Auto Collision, Tualatin Auto Body So-Cal North West and Cross Road Customs. The vendors included NAPA, Snap-on, 3M, Mo-Clamp, Axalta, Industrial Finishes and DJs Fabrications. The Auto Collision Repair Program’s students are trained on state-of-the-art auto paint booths and a virtual painting system. Constructed in 2013, the $225,000 upgrade means graduates are exceptionally employable in a competitive job market.

I thought that the A.C.R open house was a wonderful experience for the students and staff. I hope that they keep the tradition at its standard that has been implicated and kept at the standard for years to come. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this years event.
