Diesel Day attracts record crowd to Rock Creek Campus
Photos and story by Janis Nichols
Put 330 high school students in a giant space clogged with two-story high heavy equipment, free food and prizes plus the chance to schmooze with representatives from the largest heavy equipment companies in Oregon and you’ve captured the essence of PCC’s Rock Creek Campus 2015 Diesel Day held May 1. As one student said, “This is better than Disneyland.”
The annual event, organized by the Diesel Service Technology Program, offers high school students an introduction to careers repairing and maintaining diesel engines and component support systems.
