Japanese students use the electric slide to unite cultures, ease stressful days

Visiting students from PCC’s sister institution, Osaka Jikei Technical College in Japan, treated Cascade Campus students, faculty, and staff to an exhibition of traditional Japanese line dancing on Thursday, Oct. 15 in the Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building auditorium. Line dancing, preceded by synchronized stretching, is a common way for office workers in Japan to work the kinks out during the middle of a workday. After their demonstration, the Osaka Jikei students, who are here to visit the college’s Ophthalmic Medical Technology Program, pulled the PCC onlookers from the audience for a cross-cultural session of American country line dancing.
