Radiography, Medical Imaging programs show off new digs to old friends
Photos and story by James Hill
Imagine this: a whole lab and classroom area with brand new medical imaging equipment designed to help students train for great jobs.
On Thursday, March 10, PCC’s Radiography and Medical Imaging programs hosted a tour and celebration of its recently renovated facility and new equipment. Almost 100 guests got up-close-and-personal with the programs’ new digital state-of-the-art labs, which were paid for by the 2008 voter-approved bond measure. The upgrade replaced out-of-date analog imaging with digital equipment used in medical facilities today. This will help students to train on industry standard technology and provide health providers with expert radiology and medical imaging workforces.
On hand for this celebration were current and retired faculty, former Sylvania Campus President Linda Gerber, PCC Foundation staff and their honored guests. Lisa Avery, current Sylvania Campus president, along with Jennifer Piper, division dean of Health Professions and Virginia Vanderford, director of Medical Imaging, provided a brief program to thank the public for the renovation.
