Gala_KateBrownPortland Community College Foundation President Marion Levitan welcomed guests to the PCC Foundation’s 5th annual gala on Saturday, April 16 at the Portland Hilton Hotel. The event raised a record amount of more than $430,000 for scholarships and success initiatives. In attendance was Governor Kate Brown, who sat with PCC Interim President Sylvia Kelley. In the photo above the two cheer the announcement that the PCC Foundation broke its gala fund-raising record.

In a nod to the college’s mascot and the original Pink Panther film, PCC’s “Think Panther: An Evening for Opportunity” attracted more than 500 attendees, including Oregon Governor Kate Brown and Portland’s hallmark band, Pink Martini, who performed late into the night. Funds raised enable hundreds of PCC students, many being the first in their families to attend college, and with deep financial need, to be supported in their academic pursuits.
