A Message from Southeast Campus Presidentunnamed

Southeast Colleagues,

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and looking forward to an exciting new academic year!  Since our last Southeast Corner, the campus has seen a great deal of activity, from welcoming government officials to hosting the Jade International Night Market.  Thousands of community members and our own brand-new College President, Mark Mitsui, attended the highly successful event.  President Mitsui will be returning to our campus on Monday, September 12th, to engage with all of us and learn the campus culture.  His visit begins with a special Bagels, Coffee and Conversation gathering, which will be held on the third floor of SCOM from 8:30-9:30 am.  Everyone at Southeast is highly encouraged to attend.

In this special edition of the Southeast Corner, we focus on Southeast Campus happenings and impending in-service activities.  We also look forward to hearing from you in a survey.  Please mark Southeast Campus In-Service on your calendars for Tuesday, September 20th, beginning at 8:15 am.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I look forward to seeing you soon,
Southeast Campus President Jessica Howard

Bond Construction Changing Campus

unnamed-2Southeast is experiencing another short round of construction projects focused on the west side of campus. The Community Hall Annex will soon have a formal entrance, patio and new walkways; a centralized bike hub is being constructed at the southwest end of Mt. Tabor Hall; and we anticipate new bus and pedestrian shelters to be added on each side of the main drive into campus from Division Street.

All of this is designed to create a distinctive “front door” to the campus, and we hope construction we be completed by the end of fall term.

Coming up this Month at Southeast

Southeast Campus In-service

southeast-inservice-agenda-2016The Southeast Campus in-service is at 8:15 a.m.,
Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the Community Hall. Bring a non-perishable food item to campus in-service this year to be donated to the Southeast Campus Food Pantry. The Southeast Food Pantry is a resource for students who are struggling with food insecurity. Once a month, students can request a food box, packed with protein, grains, fruits, veggies, and access to information. Support for the Southeast Food Pantry is greatly appreciated. ASPCC staff are eager to receive cereal, pasta, rice, tuna, dry beans, and breakfast bars/granola bars (for emergency food needs). For more information, contact Sara Bentley at sbentley@pcc.edu.
