PCC announces winners of annual John & Suanne Roueche awards

PCC has announced the winners of this year’s John & Suanne Roueche Excellence Awards by the League for Innovation in the Community College.
John E. and Suanne D. Roueche, leaders in the community college field and early proponents of the idea that teachers have major responsibility for how well students perform in the classroom, have been partners and friends of the League for Innovation in the Community College for more than 35 years. The League for Innovation in the Community College is an international non-profit organization dedicated to energizing the community college movement. Founded in 1968, they foster and celebrate community college innovation and experimentation that lead to student and institutional success.
The winners are: Jason Palmer (music faculty – Rock Creek Campus); Josh Cary (biotechnology faculty – Rock Creek); Christina Friedel (geography faculty – Sylvania); Jeannie LaFrance (coordinator of Illumination Project – Sylvania); Virginia Chambers (chair of Medical Assisting Program – Cascade); Dan Wenger (dean of the Arts and Professions Division – Cascade); Justin Mortensen (chair of Computer-Aided drafting and Design Program – Southeast); Josh Peters-McBride (director of Student Life and Leadership Programs – Southeast); Laura Massey (director of Institutional Effectiveness); and Luis Menchu (manager of Web Services).
