Portland Community College will find itself in the spotlight this Thursday thanks to the leadership of its president, Mark Mitsui.
Mitsui was chosen as one of Portland’s “2018 Top 12 Executives” by the Portland Business Journal, for his visionary leadership and progress made to create and realize opportunity and equitable student success for PCC students.
Under Mitsui’s direction, PCC is creating avenues for students who might not otherwise persist to achieve their goals – to earn an advanced degree or credential, to get a good or better job, to provide for their families and create better futures for their children, to realize their career aspirations, and to make the community at large stronger.
The competition was fierce as nearly 60 contenders, from a variety of industries, were under consideration by the editorial team of the Portland Business Journal. Mitsui represents the only educational institution being honored, as well as the only public agency.
A luncheon to honor the 2018 top executives will be hosted by the Portland Business Journal on Thursday, Feb. 7, to be held at The Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland.
