Students, staff invited to 2021 MLK Virtual Racial Justice Teach-in

The Portland Community College community is invited to attend “From Resilience to Black Liberation: Uprooting Systems of Inequity,” which is the 2021 MLK Virtual Racial Justice Teach-in presented by the Campus Collaborative.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23. Students, instructors and staff can register on the event webpage. There will be a welcome and opening remarks followed by an art presentations and breakout sessions.

The MLK Racial Justice Campus Collaborative is a group of two- and four-year college and university campuses and community partners that seek to create programming that centers the history and narratives of Portland’s Black community during, and around Martin Luther King Day, the only national holiday committed to a Black leader.

The goal is to support community-based programming that centers on narratives of Black activism, creativity and liberation.
The 2021 Portland MLK Racial Justice Campus is led by Campus Compact of Oregon, which includes PCC, Lewis and Clark College, Mount Hood Community College, Portland State University, Reed College and University of Portland.
