Event’s activities highlight the vibrant culture of Southeast Portland.

The Jade International Night Market returns to Portland Community College’s Southeast Campus from 3-10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10. The event, now in its eighth year, is a cornerstone for the Jade District neighborhood, offering seven hours of cultural festivities, food, and fun.

This year’s market aims to surpass previous years with its diverse array of offerings. Local artisans and small businesses will showcase their products, while food vendors will tempt attendees with a variety of cuisines. The event, which is family-friendly, includes free activities for kids with Portland Nursery.

The night market, organized in collaboration with Jade District, APANO, and the Portland Art and Cultural Center, highlights the vibrant culture and rich diversity of Southeast Portland. Visitors can expect captivating stage performances from 4-10 p.m., including Bollywood Dreams, White Lotus, the Cambodian Dance Troupe of Oregon, the Portland Art & Cultural Dance Team, Ballet Papalotl, Team Japonesque, Portland Taiko and many more.

Something for everyone at Jade International Market Night.

“The Jade International Night Market started from a community visioning APANO held in 2014,” said organizer Alisa Kajikawa. “It was a much desired idea from all communities to have something that represented the diversity of the area while bringing together and welcoming folks from all over into East Portland. Ten years and eight Night Markets later, the Jade District community has shown visitors the everlasting beauty and success in celebrating diversity.”

PCC President Dr. Adrien Bennings will deliver the opening welcome. The event not only provides entertainment but also supports the local community’s economic vitality.
