For the first time since 2019, the Portland Community College Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Reception, bringing together more than 240 students, donors and college leaders in the Sylvania Campus gym. The event, which was paused due to the pandemic, celebrated the achievements of PCC scholarship recipients and honored the donors who support their educational journeys.
With a theme of “Community and Possibility,” the evening was filled with messages of resilience, hope, and the impact of collective investment in education. The program featured speeches from PCC Foundation Board President Kim Morgan, PCC graduate and accountant Melissa Lamproe and PCC President Dr. Adrien Bennings and emceed by Ivan Hernandez, former PCC scholarship recipient and current director of Community Development for the Hillsboro Hops.
During the 2024-2025 academic year, the PCC Foundation aims to award nearly $2.4 million in scholarships to support 1,550 students, underscoring its commitment to advancing educational opportunities in the community.
