Lucia Torres teaches Spanish in St. Helens this spring

ST. HELENS, Ore. – Open the door to a whole new world by learning another language with Portland Community College non-credit classes. Instructor Lucia Torres can give you the keys to learning Spanish this spring in St. Helens.PCC will offer two levels of Spanish beginning in March. Both 10-week classes will meet in Room B56 at St. Helens High School, 2375 Gable Road, St. Helens. First, Spanish Conversation: Beginning Term I will offer the basics in a fun, interactive format. This class will be offered from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 30 through June 1. Cost is $117.50 plus a $5 fee payable to the instructor at the first class. Those with a little practice can join Spanish Conversation: All Levels and continue to develop language skills with a unique conversation-style format designed to integrate those with various levels of training. This class will be offered from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays, March 30 through June 1. Cost is $91.50 plus $5 payable to the instructor at the first class. "Learning a language from a native speaker like Lucia (who is from Colombia) adds a special flavor and zest to the class,"said Ed Kaiel, PCC Community Education manager.
