Visit Heirloom Roses' garden for rose care series

ST. PAUL, Ore. – Heirloom Roses, one of the largest and most complete rose gardens in the country, boasts the Northwest’s widest selection of hybrid roses specializing in old, new and unusual roses from around the world. Join Portland Community College and instructor Cheryl Malone in visiting Heirloom Roses for a series of non-credit classes focused entirely on roses.
Heirloom Roses Series will meet from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturdays, April 22, May 20 and June 17, at Heirloom Roses, 24062 Riverside Drive N.E. Cost is $25.
Topics include:
-Propagation and Budding (April 22). Learn how to re-create your favorite roses through propagation and budding.
-Hybridizing (May 20). Hybridizing for the home hobbyist. Learn how to create a rose that no one else has seen before.
-Tour Our Test Fields (June 17). Take a tour through seedling test fields. See the results of Heirloom’s own hybridizing program. Learn how roses are tested prior to introduction in the market place.
