PCCs Rock Creek Campus to Host "Mission Possible?

Portland Community College’s Rock Creek Campus doesn’t need Tom Cruise for this mission because PCC staff has made it already possible. Rock Creek will host an open house called Mission Possible for new students, returning students and the general public on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 17705 N.W. Springville Road. The event will provide an opportunity for new and returning students to purchase their books, register for classes, contact the business office, seek academic advising, receive guidance from Financial Aid, tour the campus, and show friends and family the Rock Creek Campus. Many campus departments will have information booths and others will open their facilities for visitors to explore. Workshops on financing education and career exploration will be offered, as well as fun activities for all ages throughout the day.The entertainment schedule will include such acts as the Jazztones, Dan’l B’loon (Balloon Man), a rock wall, courtesy of the Portland Rock Gym, a children’s jumping castle, a lunchtime barbecue, cartoonist Steve Preston (free caricatures) and magician Mark Allen.Department open houses include diesel, building construction technology, science programs, art department, Women’s Resource Center, New Directions, Student Employment Services, Latino Mentorship, Student Learning Center and the Library. Students will conduct voter registration and staff a table with miscellaneous giveaways and international students will be doing calligraphy for visitors.
