Spotlighting small business owners at Southeast Campus gallery reception

Photos and story by

FlyerThe Southeast Campus, PCC’s Small Business Development Center and the ROSE Community Development are hosting the Lents Grown – Story Yard” photography exhibit and opening reception in the Student Commons this month. The public is invited to the gallery reception at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17. Light refreshments will be served.

The Lents Grown Story Yard Project was developed by ROSE, Youth Builders and the Portland Development Commission as a way to bring more art to the neighborhoods in Southeast Portland and involve youth in celebrating our multicultural business community. At PDC’s request, Propel Studio Architecture and ROSE Community Development created a joint art installation plan for 8801 SE Foster Road, which was completed in 2013. The images of local business owners and farmers market vendors were taken by local photographer Dawn DeAno.

At PCC’s request, ROSE reproduced the images as an indoor gallery format so the photography exhibit could travel the region. Take the time to swing by the Answer Center in the Student Commons (first floor) to take a peek of the showing through the end of February.
