PCC Slates Finance Workshop for Investors

NEWBERG – Commonly asked questions about investing will be answered during a six-week, non-credit class being offered this winter by Portland Community College. Finance Workshop for Investors will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 8 through Feb. 12, in Room 401 at Newberg High School, 1300 Elliott Road. Cost is $46.Instructor Deborah Cornick, who taught locally for 10 years, will discuss some of the most common concerns of investors, including reducing taxes, increasing investment income, and investing for college. Other topics include "safe" investing, the difference between no-load and load mutual funds, and estate taxes.
