PCC Senior Studies to Offer More Classes

PORTLAND – The Portland Community College Senior Studies Institute will offer many exciting new classes for seniors during winter term, starting Monday, Jan. 8. Some of the courses will include a series about live local theater conducted by members of Portland’s theater production community and a series on Black History month, focusing on historic homes, buildings, art and literature. Other classes include the impact of past Presidents’ wives and profiles of Portland’s most historic homes.Membership for PCC’s Senior Studies Institute is $30 a year and enables members to attend classes at all four class sites. Those sites include: the Neighborhood House Senior Center in Multnomah Village (located at 7688 S.W. Capitol Highway), the Washington County Workforce Training Center (185th and Walker Road), the Central Portland Workforce Training Center (1626 S.E. Water Ave.) and the SMILE Station in Sellwood (8210 S.E. 13th Ave.). All sites are served by Tri-Met and parking is available.Continuing classes in the Senior Studies Institute include current events discussion, opera preview class, great books discussion, creative writing and play reading.
