Students from Japan college show off line-dancing talents (and learn about PCC)
Photos and story by James Hill
On May 19, dozens of students from Osaka Jikei Technical College in Japan took part in a performance of traditional Japanese line dancing at the Moriarty Auditorium on the Cascade Campus. In return, the students and attendees got a lesson in American country line dancing by an instructor. Every year, the technical college, which is Japan’s version of a community college, sends a delegation of students to PCC’s campuses to tour career-technical programs, mainly at Rock Creek and Cascade campuses. At Cascade, they learned about the Ophthalmic Medical Technology Program, and at Rock Creek students explored the farm operations and the Bioscience Technology Program.
