PCC had a strong presence at the annual The Skanner’s MLK, Jr. Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Downtown Portland Hilton Hotel.

In attendance were PCC President Mark Mitsui, Cascade Campus President Karin Edwards, and PCC Board Trustee Michael Sonnleitner along with student scholar Cameron Retherford. He attends school at the Cascade Campus and plays on the men’s basketball team. Retherford won a 2016 The Skanner Foundation scholarship, as well.

Board members Jim Harper, Kali Thorne-Ladd and Deanna Palm also attended to support the great cause of King’s legacy. About 600 people were at the event that included a keynote speech by Oakland-based civil rights lawyer Howard Moore.
