Love Your Mom For Less at PCC Flower Sale

ROCK CREEK – Portland Community College wants you to be in the good graces of your mother this Mother’s Day, which is on Sunday, May 10, by the way.
Shower mom with flowers from the PCC Rock Creek Pre-Mother’s Day Flower and Plant Sale on May 6-8 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and all should be forgiven.
Available at the PCC Rock Creek Campus greenhouses, 17705 Springville Road, will be fuchsia baskets for $14, six-packs of bedding plants for $2, geraniums for $2, a wide variety of perennials and annuals, and a few surprises.
Proceeds will fund scholarships for PCC Landscape Technology students through the PCC Foundation. In previous sales, the only fundraiser for the Landscape Technology (LT) program, $10,000 went into the PCC Foundation account for LT scholarships.
Terry Lookabill, PCC Rock Creek farm and greenhouse coordinator, said these annual sales are well-received because of the prices for the greenery and a few plant and flower rarities that pop up during the event.
"We have a lot of return customers who wait for this one sale every year," Lookabill said. "It’s the low prices and we have stuff you won’t find in most places. We have something we have never had before every year."
